"Broadway After Hours" Outdoor Concert Planned for Thursday, October 18

The City of Johnsonville will sponsor its first “Broadway After Hours” on Thursday, October 18 from 5 until 8 p.m. at 117 E. Broadway Street.  The free outdoor concert will take place in a vacant lot at 117 East Broadway Street where the old IGA grocery store once operated and will feature the live music of guitarist Chuck DiZinno and the Johnsonville Middle School Rock Band-Show Choir.

“Broadway After Hours will give area residents and visitors a chance to mingle and enjoy some good, relaxing music after a day at work” said Johnsonville Mayor Steve Dukes.  “City Council has wanted to sponsor a family event like this for a long time and I want to thank Mr. John Nesmith for his help in planning the event,” Dukes added.  John Nesmith owns Nesmith Plaza located on West Broadway Street.

Chuck DiZinno is a guitarist with the band “IncrediBlues” out of Batesburg, South Carolina.  He performs a variety of light rock, blues and country music on the guitar and keys.  Classically trained on the violin from the age of eight, Chuck has played in various orchestras and community groups including Desperado, the Authentic Eagles Tribute Band.

The Johnsonville Middle School Rock Band-Show Choir will give a short performance at 6 p.m.  The group is led by Middle School teacher Brittany Carter.

A couple of local restaurants will be serving food and non-alcoholic beverages.  Bleachers will be set up but attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
