Jim Smith currently serves as the City Administrator for the City and has overall responsibility for the day to day administration and operation of all City departments under the direction of the City Council. Jim comes to the City with over 35 years of local government executive level experience, including managing municipal utilities/cities in Massachusetts, Georgia, Kentucky and Connecticut. He holds a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Boston University and a certificate in Public Utility Management from the University of Massachusetts.
A customer focused, seasoned leader with a vision for the future, Jim has worked with City councils and elected officials over the years to promote positive change in the organizations he has managed. He is excited about the many opportunities that lie ahead for the City as he works with the Council to “run the City like a business.”

Ann Tanner is Johnsonville’s Assistant City Clerk. She is responsible for taking payments at City Hall and coordinating accounts payable activities. Ann also assists with accounting and bookkeeping.
